Butterflies Are FREE At The Palazzo Las Vegas's Garden

Spring may still be a few days away, but it's already in bloom at The Palazzo® Las Vegas. This season's art installation features giant irises, and butterflies that were inspired by the morpho butterfly species, known for its bright blue wings.

The feature garden showcases three larger-than-life bearded irises reaching 10-15 feet high. Each iris is comprised of six petals, creating blooms that are approximately five feet in diameter. The irises are made of specially developed translucent material to complement the glass-like nature of the butterflies.

The butterflies suspended throughout The Palazzo's Waterfall Atrium and Gardens have wingspans that range from 4 feet to 10 feet. The 38 butterflies, which took nearly a year to create, were made with a special material that emulates the delicate medium of stained glass.

The spring art installation was created by a collaboration of 23 artists and artisans from across the United States. More than 2,000 hydrangeas, spider mums, cymbidiums, Phalaenopsis orchids, ferns, phorium grasses, lamb's ear foliage, baby tears, and aglaonema are used throughout the floral installation. Guests can experience spring at The Palazzo through June 5.
