Madame Tussauds LV Celebrates Chinese New Year With China Wax Figure Of Li Bingbing

In time for Chinese New Year, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas at The Venetian is celebrating the holiday by displaying one of China's most beloved celebrities, Li Bingbing. She has been featured in nearly 30 movies worldwide, including "Transformers: Age of Extinction" and "Resident Evil: Retribution."

Bingbing's figure is wearing a full-length red gown in celebration for the new year. She will be on display in her customized Chinese New Year set until Feb. 29 and then she will return to Madame Tussauds Shanghai.

Also in celebration of the new year, Madame Tussauds is offering a special admission price of $18.88 which pays homage to the lucky number, 8. Valid for both adults and children, guests obtain the special price when they mention the code, "1888" at the box office. The promotional code will be valid throughout February.

Li Bingbing's wax figure took nearly six months and more than 20 artists to create. Bingbing's figure was based on more than 300 body measurements and was first sculpted in clay by hand and then covered in a plaster cast. Subsequently, the clay was removed from the cast, the wax was poured in and allowed to cool, leaving the shape of the figure. Each hair was then inserted and then the figure was fitted with acrylic eyes and teeth. The final step included countless layers of tinted paint being applied to build up skin tones.
