Recycle Your Christmas Tree & Help The LV Cub Scouts

Las Vegas Cub Scout Pack 219 will be collecting Christmas trees for recycling in six zip codes in the Enterprise area January 2,3,9 -10, 2016. The zip codes are 89139, 89141, 89118, 89113, 89148, and 89178 in an area that extends from Tropicana Avenue and the Interstate 15 to Southern Highlands to Tropicana and Interstate 215, and everything south. This project will earn the Cub Scouts a conservation badge and raise funds for Pack 219.

Pickups will take place on January 2, 3, 9 and 10 between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Prospective recyclers can preschedule the date and time they would like to have their tree picked up at their home. Trees must be by the garage door or house before 8 a.m. on the morning selected. Do not place trees by the curb because they may be mistaken for trash.  All lights, nails and ornaments must be removed prior to pick up. Flocked trees cannot be accepted. Tree pickups can be scheduled at www.pack219.org or find Pack 219 on Facebook at Pack219LasVegas.

Cub Scout Pack 219 has partnered with 1-800-GOT-JUNK? of Las Vegas for this residential pick up project  Since cub scouts are unable to enter homes, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Las Vegas provides tree collection services that include removing trees from inside of homes and vacuuming up all tree debris and needles. Reservations for this service can be made at www.1800gotjunk.com/us_en.

This fundraising project for Cub Scout Pac 29 has been planned in conjunction with the Southern Nevada Christmas Tree Recycling Committee. Trees can also be dropped off at locations throughout the Las Vegas valley. For a map of free drop sites, open from December 26 to January 15, visit springspreserve.org.
