The Chelsea Adds Sam Hunt Performance On December 4

Sam Hunt has been added to the entertainment lineup at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Born and raised in Cedartown, Georgia, Sam Hunt was a gifted athlete all his life. Throughout his college years, Hunt played football and eventually became the starting quarterback at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. During college, Hunt began playing the guitar and writing songs in his free time. After he graduated, Hunt was invited to training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs but decided to move to Nashville instead to pursue a career in country music. After playing a few of his original songs around town, he was quickly offered a publishing deal allowing him to write country songs full-time. After writing Kenny Chesney’s hit song “Come Over,” which landed at No. 1 on the music charts, Hunt shifted his focus from songwriter to solo artist. In 2013, Hunt met Zach Crowell, a producer for the Antioch rap crew, and together they released a free mixtape of acoustic songs called Between The Pines. The songs from the mixtape began averaging over 300,000 streams per day on Spotify, leading Hunt to win the 2014 cycle of Spotify’s “Emerge” program for new artists. Hunt signed with Universal Music Group’s MCA Nashville and released his debut album Montevallo. In 2014, the album debuted at No. 1 on the country charts and features a mix of sounds and styles from the aggressive dance beats of the opening “Take Your Time” to the more melodic “Make You Miss Me.”
