Leave Las Vegas & Spend Some Time In Pahrump! List Of Activities

Celebrate summertime this August in the town of Pahrump with a plethora of fun-filled events that you don’t want to miss. Learn about the geological history of the Pahrump Valley by attending the Pahrump Valley Museum lecture, rock out and dance the night away with concerts under the stars or watch cars speed around the dirt track before summer speeds away from you. There is plenty of fun to be had in Pahrump this summer at the following events:

Second Saturday of the month; Aug. 8
1 p.m.

Pahrump Valley Museum Lecture Series: Calling all history buffs: the Pahrump Valley Museum is dedicated to inspiring curiosity and teaching the rich history and culture of Pahrump through its one-of-a-kind exhibits that include early farming and mining equipment, early relics from cowboys and pioneers, and Native American artifacts. In addition to the historic items on display, the Pahrump Valley Museum offers a monthly lecture series that covers a wide range of topics.

Dr. Voegele, a 30-year resident of Southern Nevada and a former Chief Scientist of the Yucca Mountain project, will be speaking about the geological history of the Pahrump Valley.
“The Goodfellas”: Enjoy music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s with Jerry Clark, Phil Ricco and Danny Rome as “The Goodfellas.” If you thought it can’t get better than that, think again, this concert is accompanied by complimentary wine tasting. This festive trio will give you the ultimate blast from the past, but for one night only.

Pahrump Valley Speedway: Race season is in full effect at the Pahrump Valley Speedway. One of the only clay-based, high-banked, quarter-mile dirt tracks remaining in the U.S., Pahrump Valley Speedway promises action and thrills galore.  Bring the family for a day of racing and cheer on different classes of cars including Modifieds, Super Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Coupes, Bombers, Mod Minis, and more.

Tickets can be purchased at the speedway.  General adult tickets cost $10 and children between 6 – 14 years of age are $6.  Children age 5 and under are FREE.  Family six packs are available for $30 (two adults and four kids under 14).
