Bakery is now serving up sweets at Downtown Summerlin, Las Vegas’ newest
destination. Cakes, cookies, and other artistic edible creations play a
starring role in the storybook shop from founder Allyson Ames.
Straight
out of a fairytale, Ames, who bears a striking resemblance to Alice in
Wonderland, began baking at the age of five and found a recipe for
success. She was named one of Ernst
& Young LLP’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women and her treats are favorites of
everyone from the White House to Whoopi Goldberg. The first Wonderland Bakery
opened in Newport Beach in 2005 and the brand boasts seasonal locations
throughout Southern California. The Las Vegas location marks the start of a
national expansion for the company that will include additional stores along
with licensed lifestyle merchandise.
Wonderland
Bakery is the reminiscent of childhood favorites, with dashes of influence from
Willy Wonka, Candyland and the namesake Alice in Wonderland all blending to
deliver the perfect whimsical experience that will delight sweet lovers of all
ages.
Offering
custom cakes, desserts, chocolate fountains and other treats, the signature
Wonderland experience can be found in the bakery’s workshop where decorating
parties bring out everyone’s inner artist. With a sprinkle bar lining the wall
