For
the seventh consecutive year, South Point Arena and Equestrian Center will host
the High Roller Reining Classic, Sept. 13 – 20. For the first time ever, the
event will include a West Coast Breeders Select Sale (WCBSS) offering the
equestrian industry’s top breeders to the opportunity to display the
best-of-the-best yearlings during an elite public auction on Saturday, Sept.
20.
The
High Roller Reining Classic, dubbed the international "crown jewel"
of western riding competitions, attracts thousands of western riders, breeders
and owners from around the world looking to take home a portion of a $500,000
prize pool. Capping off the event, the WCBSS will offer elite,
pre-screened, performance-bred yearlings
for sale at public auction.
“Over
the years, the reining industry has seen significant growth in its competitive
nature, both in riders and the level of breeds,” said Amanda Brumley founder of
the WCBSS and producer of the High Roller Reining Classic. “With the addition
of the WCBSS to the event schedule, the
National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) further solidifies the event’s
position as the world’s most prestigious western riding competition in the
industry.”
WCBSS
consignments are evaluated by a panel of experts for selection into the sale
based on breeding, confirmation and genetic performance history. Then the
yearling’s radiographs are examined by top performance horse veterinarians, Dr.
John Newcom and Dr. Russ Peterson. The evaluations provide buyers with
pertinent details needed to make a sophisticated purchase such as x-rays,
health standing and genetic blood testing. The introductory consignment fee is
$500.

Quarter Horses Rhodes River Ranch, Tamarack Ranch, Pacific Range Ranch, Sergio
