Sierra
Gold is the other child of parent company Golden Gaming. You may be familiar
with their other offspring PT’s Pubs.
For as long as I have been in Vegas there have always been PT’s Pubs
basically on every corner. Now they have 38 locations throughout the Valley.
The PT’s are casual neighborhood bars where you can go after work and watch the
game and grab a bite and beer with your co-workers and friends. They all have large plasma screen TV’s for
the sports fans.
There
are four Sierra Gold locations throughout Las Vegas and they offer a slightly
different ambience. The décor is
slightly enhanced with VIP lounges and fireplaces. The Sierra Gold at Jones and
the 215 has a private upstairs banquet room that will accommodate up to 200
people it has its own bar. They also
have large plasma screen TV’s for the sports fans enjoyment.
The
menus at both PT’s and Sierra Gold have always been interesting and varied but
at the four Sierra Gold locations they have added some delightful items to
their menus to keep it interesting and ethnically diverse. You will find
Italian items, Mexican items, Greek items and American deli items!
Salads during the summer are of course wildly
popular and Sierra Gold has added some great ones. The Grilled Chicken Quinoa
Salad was bursting with flavor! It has quinoa, arugula, and chicken breast,
tomatoes, cucumbers, roasted red peppers, crisp fried onions, red onions.
Avocado, candied walnuts and is tossed with a raspberry walnut vinaigrette
dressing, a divine mixture of flavors! Another flavorful and filling addition
is the Greek Salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, bell pepper, red onions.
Pepperoncini, Kalamata olives, romaine, feta cheese and tossed with a lemon
vinaigrette dressing.
Along
with the great salads two other outstanding items on the new menus stood out,
the Thai Curry Shrimp Bowl! AWESOME and maybe not what you would expect to find
at a Sierra Gold but it was tasty! Filled with bell peppers, onions, celery,
carrots, fresh basil, shrimp, scallions, fresh cilantro and rice the chef sure
knows what he is doing with this bowl! Seasoned just right, it is a great
addition to the menu. The other favorite addition is the Green Chile Sliders!
BEEF sliders with Ortega green chile, peppered bacon, spring mix, cheddar
cheese and green chile sauce, simply marvelous! The new menu additions add to a great
experience at any Sierra Gold location and you are sure to enjoy their
reasonable prices and friendly service.
