Saturday, Tiësto, recently voted “The Greatest DJ of All Time”, launched his
exclusive 2012 residency with Wynn Las Vegas at mega-nightclub, XS. The
40,000-square-foot venue was packed wall to wall for Super Bowl weekend, with
devoted fans traveling from all over the globe to experience the kick-off for
the talented DJs new home in Sin City.
Tiësto
took to the stage shortly after 1 am and played until the early hours of the
morning. Special production, including three huge LED walls, confetti guns and
smoke cannons, only added to the artist’s highly anticipated set.
With
countless achievements including a Grammy Award nomination, several MTV awards,
and a performance at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games,
Tiësto, a.k.a. Tijs Verwest, is one of the most recognizable electronic artists
worldwide. He has developed an incredible following over his career and
compiled more than 10 million Facebook fans and nearly 300 million hits on
YouTube. Last night’s crowd did not disappoint with everyone from comedian Drew
Carey to Dancing with the Stars Pro Derek Hough to UFC Ring Girl Brittney
Palmer joining in the fun.

Not
to be outdone, socialite Paris Hilton headed to the stage, jumping in the booth
with Tiësto to give a shout out to XS as her favorite club in the country
before praising the DJ and hyping the crowd. Hilton, rumored to be dating XS
Resident DJ Afrojack, has become an uber-fan of electronic dance music and is
said to be collaborating on her own album with her beau as well as pop
sensation LMFAO. She danced on stage until 4 am, throwing oversized XS balloons
out to the crowd and posing for photo opps with fans.
Tiësto
has gone on record saying this is the “best club in the world” and if he were
to build a club, it would look exactly like XS. Playing several dates
throughout the remainder of the year, the superstar and mega-club will be a
perfect match for special events in 2012 and beyond, including his next date
during Spring Break season on Saturday, March 31.
“Tiësto
is more than an artist — he is a globally respected brand,” said Jesse Waits,
co-owner and managing partner of XS and Tryst Nightclubs. “This partnership is
an integral component of our plans to solidify Wynn Las Vegas as a mecca for
electronic music. The combination of Tiësto’s talent, devoted fan base and
special production elements will create a monumental series of events in the
year ahead.”
